We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client, a busy and well-established electrical contracting business, for a reliable and organised Storeman. This position would suit a practical, hands-on individual who can effectively manage day-to-day stores operations, coordinate vehicles, and maintain control of equipment within a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out general stores and warehouse duties
- Manage and control stock and materials
- Book materials in and out, coordinating deliveries and collections
- Oversee the issue and return of plant and equipment, maintaining accurate sign-in/sign-out records
- Operate a forklift (where required)
- Manage company vehicles, including servicing, repairs, inspections, and general upkeep
- Maintain vehicle-related records, including driver eyesight checks
- Collect materials from suppliers and deliver tools, equipment, and materials to site
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in a stores, warehouse, or yard-based role
- Forklift licence preferred (training may be provided for the right candidate)
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage stock, paperwork, and records accurately
- Proactive attitude with a hands-on approach
- Experience within construction, electrical contracting, or a similar field is advantageous
