The Role
We are looking for an experienced and reliable Production Supervisor to join a busy industrial recycling and materials-processing facility based in Dunsfold, Surrey. This is a hands-on supervisory role where you will be responsible for overseeing daily production activities, managing a team, allocating workloads, monitoring output and maintaining high standards of quality and health & safety. You will work closely with production and maintenance teams to ensure the facility operates safely, efficiently and to the required standards. Previous experience within recycling or materials processing would be advantageous, but full training will be provided for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily production activities across the facility
- Allocate workloads and organise team activities to meet production targets
- Monitor production output, quality and performance
- Ensure materials are processed, sorted and stored correctly
- Lead, support and train production employees
- Monitor attendance, conduct and performance
- Ensure company procedures, risk assessments and safe working practices are followed
- Promote correct PPE use and maintain high standards of health & safety
- Carry out workplace and safety checks and deliver toolbox talks
- Monitor machinery and report faults or maintenance requirements
- Work closely with maintenance teams to minimise downtime
- Maintain accurate production, quality and stock records
- Investigate production issues and implement practical solutions
- Maintain clean, organised and safe production areas
- Provide hands-on support to the production team when required
- Report production figures and operational issues to management
About You
We are looking for someone with previous supervisory or team leader experience within a production, manufacturing, recycling, engineering, warehouse or similar industrial environment. You will ideally have:
- Experience managing employees and allocating daily workloads
- A practical, hands-on approach to leadership
- Good communication and people-management skills
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
- A good understanding of workplace health & safety
- Basic computer skills and the ability to complete production records
- A reliable, professional and positive approach to work
- The ability to remain calm and organised in a busy production environment
Recycling or materials-processing experience would be an advantage but is not essential, as training will be provided. A forklift licence or relevant machinery certificates would also be advantageous.
Training & Development
Full on-site training and induction will be provided, covering production and materials-processing procedures, machinery and equipment, quality control, health & safety, production reporting and company procedures. Additional relevant training and qualifications may also be provided where appropriate.
Important Information
This is a fully site-based and hands-on position in Dunsfold, Surrey. The role involves regular movement around an active industrial facility and cannot be performed remotely. Applicants must be able to travel reliably to the Dunsfold site for every shift.
