About the Role
Talented People are recruiting for a Production Engineer / Project Manager to join a specialist engineering business in the defence sector. This role is pivotal in ensuring production plans are delivered on time, coordinating across departments and suppliers to drive projects from start to finish.
You’ll need strong mechanical engineering knowledge, proven experience in fast-moving manufacturing environments, and the determination to keep things moving to deadline and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare, maintain, and execute the production plan.
* Coordinate with Design, Procurement, CNC, and Project Engineering teams.
* Act as the central communication point across departments, suppliers, and senior management.
* Monitor project milestones and escalate risks or delays where necessary.
* Resolve production bottlenecks quickly and effectively.
* Drive accountability across teams and ensure actions are completed.
* Support continuous improvement in efficiency, quality, and communication.
About You
* Strong mechanical engineering background with 5+ years’ industry experience.
* Apprenticeship trained; ideally HNC/HND (minimum ONC).
* Experience in engineering/manufacturing with production planning responsibility.
* Excellent communicator with the ability to influence and coordinate across stakeholders.
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced setting, handling multiple priorities.
* Proven ability to deliver against tight deadlines.
* Driven, proactive, and motivated to deliver results.
