London Full-Time No working from home possible
Talented People

09th July, 2026

Role: Head of Scotland, permanent
Contract: full-time, salaried, plus performance related bonus
Location: Glasgow (full commitment to being Scotland based - relocation considered)
Every so often a role comes along that makes us sit up a little straighter. This is one of them.
Our client is a highly respected, award-winning independent producer with a serious international footprint and a Scottish operation that has become one of the most exciting stories in the nations and regions - built properly, with real roots, real jobs and a slate of genuinely brilliant programmes. Several shows are in production there right now, and the ambition is to grow much, much further.
They're looking for a new Head of Scotland: the most senior creative and strategic leader in the office, and a key member of the company's senior team.
This is emphatically not a satellite exec job - it's a business leadership role for someone who can win work as brilliantly as they deliver it.
You will:

  • Develop the strategic vision for a thriving, growing Scottish operation
  • Pitch and sell to UK commissioners, streamers and international buyers
  • Build new relationships and partnerships, and find the clever routes to funding that others miss - including soft money and co-production opportunity
  • Guide a talented development team and oversee a busy slate to the highest editorial standard
  • Lead the Glasgow office with autonomy, warmth and a hands-on approach (without micromanaging a very capable team)
You will be:
  • An experienced Executive Producer or company leader in premium documentary and popular factual - true crime, music, archive or current affairs experience all welcome, and scripted is growing too
  • A superb salesperson, pitcher and writer whose name gives commissioners confidence
  • Commercially sharp, with a real understanding of how your work drives the bottom line
  • Hungry, outward-looking and contemporary in your thinking - allergic to complacency and excited by international opportunity
If you look at the Scottish landscape right now and see opportunity everywhere, we'd love to hear from you.
Use the 'Apply Now' button to send us your CV and a succinct cover note highlighting your relevant experience. Look forward to receiving it :-)
**As a proud champion of diversity and equality in production, we encourage you to tell us if you belong to any marginalised or under-represented group in the industry - be that race, disability, sexuality, gender, socio-economic background or religion, or if you have any other personal circumstance we can support you with eg jobsharing / flexible working requirement. We will not disclose this information to our clients without talking to you about it first, and your application will in no way be affected**
