An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Warehouse / Transport Manager (AM Shift) to join a high-performing company based in Crawley. This role is ideal for a proactive and driven individual who thrives in a fast-paced logistics or warehouse environment. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth coordination of early morning operations, working closely with warehouse teams and drivers to deliver outstanding service and operational efficiency.
Warehouse & Operations Management
- Open the depot as a key holder and prepare the site for daily operations
- Coordinate and oversee morning parcel sortation activities
- Plan and allocate deliveries across multiple routes
- Organise trailer arrivals, parcel volumes, and operational workflow
- Ensure accurate scanning, sorting, and loading of all parcels
- Monitor progress to achieve targeted sort and dispatch deadline
Team Leadership
- Lead by example with a "hands-on" approach
- Motivate and support warehouse operatives to meet performance targets
- Foster a positive, team-focused working environment
- Promote accountability and strong communication across teams
Driver & Delivery Support
- Ensure all drivers are fully prepared for departure
- Support loading and dispatch where required
- Act as the main point of contact for drivers during delivery routes
- Assist with delivery issues, breakdowns, and operational queries
- Manage and monitor time-sensitive and premium deliveries
Quality, Compliance & Accuracy
- Conduct quality checks on parcels, identifying damage or sorting errors
- Manage discrepancies and investigate delivery issues, including reviewing CCTV if required
- Maintain accurate system updates and operational statuses
- Ensure misrouted deliveries are quickly identified and resolved
- Promote safe working practices across the warehouse
Post-Sort & Continuous Improvement
- Oversee post-sort organisation and warehouse housekeeping
- Ensure all deliveries and collections are completed daily
- Maintain system accuracy and reporting standards
- Identify areas for improvement and drive operational efficiencies
Experience & Requirements
- Proven experience in a warehouse, logistics, or depot environment
- Strong leadership skills with a hands-on management style
- Excellent organisation and time management abilities
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
