Due to continued growth and investment, the company is looking for an experienced Grinding Machine Operator to join its skilled production team on the afternoon/evening shift. Job Profile The Grinding Machine Operator will operate and set up grinding machines to produce high-quality, conforming components. This hands-on role involves preparing machines, inspecting finished parts, and ensuring all products meet strict specifications. The position suits individuals with a strong background in manufacturing, high attention to detail, and confidence using inspection tools and equipment. Key Responsibilities / Duties * Set up and operate grinding machines as per product specifications. * Adjust and change machine settings and tooling for each job in a timely manner. * Grind, deburr, and polish components to meet shape, finish, and dimensional requirements. * Interpret and work from engineering drawings accurately. * Monitor and adjust machine parameters as needed to ensure quality and output targets are achieved. * Use inspection tools such as micrometers and verniers to check component dimensions and complete validation sheets. * Perform in-process inspections to maintain consistent production quality. * Run multiple machines simultaneously where applicable based on job requirements. * Record production data and report any deviations or issues to supervisors promptly. * Support colleagues across the department to ensure smooth and efficient operations. * Follow company quality procedures and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. * Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the work area. * Adhere to all health and safety policies and complete required training. Requirements / Skills Essential: * 3–5 years’ experience in a similar machining or manufacturing role. * Ability to read and interpret technical drawings. * Proficient in the use of measurement equipment such as micrometers and verniers. * Strong mathematical and technical skills. * Familiarity with systematic problem-solving techniques. * Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality. * Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. * Team-oriented with a proactive attitude. * Adaptable and willing to learn new processes.
