About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated Field Service Engineer to join their growing Commercial Service team covering Bristol and the surrounding region. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys working independently, solving technical issues, and delivering outstanding customer service. The successful candidate will attend customer sites to service, maintain, and repair a wide range of commercial laundry equipment while ensuring high standards of workmanship and professionalism at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out servicing, repairs, and preventative maintenance on commercial laundry equipment
- Diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical faults efficiently
- Responding promptly to breakdowns and scheduled service calls
- Completing accurate service reports using the company system
- Working within agreed service authorisation limits and communicating effectively with the service team
- Building and maintaining strong customer relationships on site
- Managing van stock to ensure readiness for daily service work
- Maintaining the company vehicle in line with manufacturer schedules
- Following all customer and company health & safety procedures
- Providing basic operational guidance and training to customers when required
Key Performance Indicators
- First-time fix rate of 80% or above
- Average of 4-6 service calls per day depending on travel
- Recall rate below 4%
Skills & Experience
- Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Experience servicing commercial or industrial equipment
- Good understanding of safe systems of work and electrical isolation
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively
- Commercial gas qualification (ACS) desirable but not essential
