We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant on behalf of our client to support in multiple kitchens across their site. You will work across both front-of-house and kitchen areas to ensure a high level of service, cleanliness, and satisfaction. If successful the client will apply for a Enhanced Adult DBS certificate. The salary on offer for this Kitchen Assistant role is between £24,000 – £25,000 and provides an excellent footing for progression within the business! Key Responsibilities: Front of House: * Set up dining areas and ensure they are ready for service. * Greet and seat customers, provide menus, and take orders. * Assist with food service, clearing tables, and washing up. * Organise, prepare, and serve for special events and functions. * Maintain cleanliness in dining and bar areas, ensuring all equipment is stocked. * Provide concierge services and attend to emergencies when required. Kitchen Duties: * Assist chefs with general kitchen duties such as food prep, cleaning, and washing up. * Prepare vegetables, salads, and sandwiches for daily meals. * Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen and storage areas, ensuring proper stock rotation. * Follow hygiene guidelines and cleaning schedules, maintaining a safe environment. * Support with the cooking and preparation of bakery and breakfast items. General Responsibilities: * Ensure the highest quality of service in all areas. * Follow health & safety and infection control procedures. * Maintain confidentiality and safeguard vulnerable adults. Personal Specification: * Qualifications: Food Hygiene Certificate Level 1 (desirable, or willingness to study for it). * Experience: At least 1 year of experience in the catering industry (care environment experience is a plus). * Skills: * Strong communication and interpersonal skills. * Organised and able to work independently. * Flexibility to work across different shifts and areas. * Ability to follow instructions and work in a fast-paced environment. * Attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
