TalentCo are delighted to be partnering with an established PE-backed tech company looking to hire a high-calibre Lead Software Engineer into their UK HQ just north of London, as they build a new conversational AI platform from the ground up. This hire will be based predominantly from home, spending 1 day per week in the office, but with plenty of flexibility to suit individual circumstances.
The client are developing a low-code, multi-tenant platform that enables large enterprises to design, build and deploy AI agents capable of handling both single-step LLM tasks and complex multi-step agentic workflows.
As Lead Software Engineer you will:
- Set the software engineering standards for this newly formed team of 4.
- Operate roughly as follows: 70% hands-on software development, 30% tech lead responsibilities.
- Develop scalable backend services for multi-tenant execution of AI agents.
- Deploy LLM-based applications and agentic workflows at scale.
We want to hear from you if:
- You have 5+ years of hands-on experience building production applications, with at least 2 years as a Lead Software Engineer, Technical Lead or Software Engineering Lead.
- You’re an expert when it comes to backend development using Python and you’re proficient in modern web technologies, especially TypeScript.
- Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and scalable architectures.
- You do NOT need previous AI experience, but you definitely need a keen desire to build AI products.
