TalentBoard is seeking warm, enthusiastic and committed Early Years Teaching Assistants to work across nurseries, Early Years units and foundation stage classrooms throughout the Wirral. These flexible supply positions offer a mix of part-time and full-time opportunities, including short-term and long-term placements to suit your lifestyle.
Whether you have Early Years experience already or come from a childcare, support or care background, this is a fantastic opportunity to support children in their most important developmental years.
Your Role
- Support practitioners and teachers in delivering play-based, engaging Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) activities.
- Provide nurturing 1:1 or small-group support to help children develop communication, social skills, and early learning.
- Foster a warm, safe, and stimulating environment where children feel confident to explore and learn.
- Assist with personal care and routines such as feeding, toileting, changing and hygiene, ensuring comfort and dignity.
- Help set up indoor and outdoor learning areas, prepare resources, and maintain a well-organised EYFS environment.
- Encourage positive behaviour and emotional development through modelling and gentle guidance.
- Follow safeguarding procedures and uphold the highest standards of child protection.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience working with young children, either in early years settings, nurseries, childcare, or similar care/support roles.
- An understanding of the EYFS framework and child development (desirable but not essential).
- A nurturing, patient and positive approach.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with children and staff.
- The confidence to use your initiative and work effectively as part of a supportive team.
- A genuine passion for helping children learn, grow and thrive.
All applicants must either hold an Enhanced DBS check or be willing to obtain one.
