We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Tester to join a dynamic public sector organisation at the forefront of data-driven transformation. You will lead testing efforts across complex ETL processes and large-scale data systems, applying your expertise in Python and modern testing frameworks to validate data accuracy, performance, and integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough evaluations of software applications to identify defects, ensure functionality, and enhance overall user experience.
- Design, execute, and maintain both manual and automated test cases to validate usability, performance, and reliability.
- Develop and manage detailed test plans, scripts, and reports, ensuring traceability to business requirements.
- Create and maintain robust, scalable test automation scriptsprimarily using tools like Playwrightbased on well-defined requirements.
- Review user stories and technical requirements to define test conditions and ensure comprehensive test coverage, including non-functional testing for APIs and UIs.
Experience Required
- Proven experience in testing Big Data, Data Warehousing, and ETL processes, with a strong understanding of data quality, validation, and transformation workflows.
- Proficient in Python, with hands-on experience using testing frameworks such as Pytest, Behave, or other tools commonly used in data testing environments.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing end-to-end testing efforts within Agile teams, including planning, coordination, and execution across multiple concurrent projects.
- Skilled in both manual and automated testing, with the ability to design, develop, and maintain effective test suites tailored to data-driven applications.
- Experience mentoring junior testers and fostering a culture of quality through the promotion of testing best practices, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing.
