A pocket-sized device that reads DNA. One of them is on the International Space Station right now. Others are used by archaeologists in the field, by hospitals, and by universities in pretty much every country on earth. That's the technology you'd be supporting working for this British science company whose sequencing devices, from a USB-stick-sized reader to benchtop machines used in major labs, are changing how the world analyses DNA and RNA.
Having spent its first chapter as an R&D powerhouse, the company is now firmly focused on commercial growth, and the Salesforce platform sits right at the centre of that. We're looking for a Salesforce Technical Lead to own the architecture and quality of that platform as it scales across a global, multi-entity business.
What you'll do:
- You’ll be the technical authority for Salesforce, close enough to the tools to stay credible, but operating at lead level.
- Owning high-level design (working with developers, architects and external partners to shape solutions the way we need them).
- Guiding low-level design and configuration, ensuring everything built is scalable, robust and aligned to a coherent architecture.
- Being a visible, articulate presence with stakeholders across the business — this role involves as much liaising, leading and presenting as it does designing.
What we're looking for:
- A strong Salesforce developer background - Apex-literate and genuinely hands-on credible.
- Experience at Lead Developer or Lead Architect level.
- CPQ / Revenue Cloud (RCA) experience, or the depth to pick it up quickly.
- A track record of producing both high-level and low-level designs.
- Experience leading or mentoring developers and working with third-party partners.
- Excellent written and spoken communication, able to hold your own with engineers, leadership and external bodies alike.
- Salesforce architecture certifications (Application Architect, System Architect, Platform Developer II, or working toward CTA) are welcome but not essential - we care more about capability than badges.
What's on offer:
- 20% on-target bonus, up to 40%.
- Free share scheme (c.7%).
- One day a week on-site (Wednesdays) at their Oxford Science Park HQ.
- Restaurant, on-site gym, free fruit and coffee, and socials with guest speakers.
- No dress code, and a genuinely interesting platform problem in a company doing work that matters.
