We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Database Architect to develop and implement strategic database solutions aligned with business objectives. This role requires a visionary perspective on database architecture, with emphasis on platform selection, scalability planning and technology road‑mapping, rather than detailed implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate the current EDB PostgreSQL implementation against business requirements and application diversity
- Assess the strengths and limitations of the existing distributed PostgreSQL architecture
- Research and recommend alternative database technologies and architectural patterns suited to specific application needs
- Develop a comparative analysis of database solutions (SQL, NoSQL, NewSQL and distributed systems)
- Create a decision framework for selecting appropriate database technologies based on application characteristics
- Design high-level architectural patterns to support potential database migrations or hybrid implementations
- Provide expert guidance on database technology selection criteria and evaluation methodologies
- Develop a strategic road map for potential database diversification or consolidation
- Establish governance standards for managing multiple database technologies, where recommended
Required Skills and Experience
- Deep expertise in PostgreSQL, including distributed implementations
- Comprehensive knowledge of alternative database technologies
- Experience evaluating and comparing database platforms for enterprise applications
