Our public sector client is looking for a Safety Manager to support and manage safety risks associated with the organisation’s products, systems, and services to reduce associated risks to as low as reasonably practicable. This is not an opportunity for a Health and Safety Manager.
As a Safety Manager, you are responsible for the development, operation, and continuous improvement of the Safety Management Plan, which is the policy and procedures for the safety management of all products, systems, and services that have the potential to cause direct or indirect harm to individuals, property, or the environment.
Skills and Experience
- Formal training or qualifications in Safety Management
- Experience of developing BowTies
- Previous Safety Management experience/exposure
- Previous experience with leading safety investigations
- Previous experience leading Safety Panels / Committee
Day to Day
The Safety Manager is responsible for the development, operation, and continuous improvement of the Safety Case including:
- Confirming change has gone through due process and governance;
- Safety process and associated documentation;
- Promotion of Safety Culture;
- Monitoring safety-related occurrences and the impact on Safety Cases;
- Ensuring the organisation’s Safety Management System is implemented;
- Producing and managing safety documentation in preparation for the Safety Control Board and Safety Board meetings;
- Acting as a member of Safety Management Review Panels for Safety Cases.
