About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Digital Assets Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join a major financial services consultancy, supporting a world-class institutional custodian in London. In this pivotal role, you will bridge traditional post-trade institutional custody with cutting-edge digital asset ecosystems. You will define target operating models (TOM), establish robust control frameworks, and guide the integration of tokenised securities and enterprise blockchain technology into tier‑one institutional custody platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as the core SME across digital assets, tokenised securities, and institutional custody operations.
  • Target Operating Model (TOM): Design and refine operational frameworks covering asset onboarding, safekeeping, settlement, servicing, and reconciliation for tokenised assets.
  • Platform and Network Integration: Advise on integrating digital asset platforms and permissioned blockchain networks into existing post-trade and securities servicing infrastructure.
  • Controls and Requirements: Define business requirements, risk management frameworks, and operating procedures specific to digital custody.
  • Operational Risk Assessment: Evaluate operational impacts regarding key/wallet management, entitlements, transaction signing, asset segregation, settlement finality, and corporate actions.
  • Product Onboarding: Collaborate across operations, technology, risk, compliance, and product teams to establish a repeatable onboarding process for digital products.
  • Industry Insights: Provide market insight on interoperability, market infrastructure developments, and evolving institutional digital asset operating models.

Key Requirements

  • Experience within global custodians, asset managers, market infrastructures, or major banking institutions.
  • Core Custody Domain: Strong background in post-trade operations, securities custody, and asset servicing.
  • Digital Assets and DLT: Direct experience with tokenisation, distributed ledger technology (DLT), or institutional digital custody platforms.
  • Operating Models: Proven track record in defining and implementing custody controls, settlement workflows, and operating procedures.
  • Desirable: Familiarity with permissioned blockchain networks (e.g., Canton Network, Corda, or Hyperledger Fabric) is highly desirable.
