Operating across North America, EMEA and Asia Pacific, they design, build and operate resilient, efficient and sustainable digital infrastructure for some of the world's leading technology companies.
They are now looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join their collaborative Design & Engineering team.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex, large-scale data centre projects and play a key role in taking electrical designs from initial concept through to construction, commissioning and operational handover.
The Opportunity
As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will provide technical expertise across the full lifecycle of data centre design and delivery.
You will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, contractors, suppliers, operations teams and customers to translate technical requirements into practical, reliable and efficient solutions.
The role offers a broad range of responsibilities, from high-level system design and specification development through to design reviews, commissioning support and troubleshooting existing systems.
You will also have the opportunity to contribute to engineering standards, product development and innovation across a growing international portfolio.
- What You'll Be Doing
- Developing and reviewing electrical system designs, specifications and construction documentation.
- Producing and reviewing schematic drawings, submittals and sequences of operation.
- Supporting projects throughout the full design, construction and commissioning lifecycle.
- Reviewing electrical equipment and system submittals to ensure designs meet project requirements and engineering standards.
- Working closely with mechanical, BMS, construction, procurement and operations teams to coordinate fully integrated solutions.
- Supporting the management and coordination of internal and external design teams.
- Attending project design meetings, site walks and stakeholder meetings.
- Reviewing electrical commissioning documentation and supporting commissioning activities.
- Conducting value engineering analysis and helping to balance capital investment, operational performance and long-term sustainability.
- Providing recommendations based on technical and commercial analysis, including ROI and IRR considerations.
- Carrying out and reviewing electrical engineering studies, including:
- Short-circuit and overcurrent protection coordination studies.
- Distribution and voltage drop analysis.
- Underground duct bank thermal calculations.
- Cable and conduit fill calculations.
- Using engineering judgement and analysis tools to resolve complex technical challenges.
- Ensuring completed installations meet the required engineering standards, specifications and applicable codes.
- What We’re Looking For
We are looking for an experienced electrical engineering professional with a strong background in critical power infrastructure, data centres or other mission-critical environments.
You may be a great fit if you have
- A degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent technical discipline.
- Chartered Engineer, Professional Engineer or similar accreditation would be advantageous.
- Significant experience in electrical power design and construction.
- Previous experience within data centres or mission-critical infrastructure.
- Experience working within European construction markets.
- Exposure to North American construction markets would also be beneficial.
- Strong knowledge of critical power infrastructure, from external utility supply through to end-circuit distribution supporting IT equipment.
- Experience with systems including UPS, generators, switchgear, electrical distribution and utility integration.
- A strong understanding of electrical protection, coordination and sequence of operations.
- Knowledge of relevant building regulations, fire codes and IEC standards.
- Experience using engineering and design software such as Auto CAD, ETAP and Amp Calc.
- An understanding of Revit, BIM and Navisworks environments.
