Are you ready to help shape the next generation of Formula 1 performance? We’re looking for an experienced Model Technician to join our passionate, supportive team. This is an exciting opportunity to work hands-on with cutting-edge technology, bringing our wind tunnel models to life and playing a key part in our on-track success.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Work closely with a skilled team of technicians in the Model Shop to produce, deliver, and test top-quality components and assemblies for wind tunnel testing.
- Ensure all wind tunnel project parts and assemblies are manufactured to the highest standard and delivered on time.
- Support the Lead Technicians in managing the Model Shop workload and meeting demanding deadlines.
- Build large and complex mechanical assemblies for the wind tunnel model with accuracy and care.
- Identify technical challenges and help diagnose and resolve issues efficiently.
- Collaborate with Model Design Engineers to continually improve the quality of model parts and streamline model changes.
- Play an active role in maintaining and promoting Health and Safety standards within the workshop.
What We’re Looking For:
- Current experience in preparing wind tunnel model parts and supporting wind tunnel tests, ideally in Formula 1 or high-level motorsport.
- Proven hands-on experience in precision model-making and mechanical assembly work.
- Solid knowledge of mechanical installations and metrology equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail and quality.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills — you enjoy sharing knowledge and supporting colleagues.
- Confidence to lead and mentor others, and to help the team achieve shared goals.
- Flexibility to travel regularly throughout the year, including some weekends, as needed by the testing schedule.
