We are looking for an experienced Engineer, based in our Silverstone office, to join our Aero Performance Team. In this role, you will provide aerodynamic input to Aero Correlation, build an understanding of the differences between various data sources (track, wind tunnel, and CFD), and contribute to performance upgrades on the track.
Responsibilities
- Provide the best information to build an understanding of the aerodynamic performance of the race car that enables higher confidence levels in delivering performance upgrades to the track.
- Guide the team in developing and implementing strategies to improve aerodynamic understanding.
- Implement methods and tools for correlation between track data and Wind Tunnel/CFD data.
- Develop innovative tools and strategies to improve the aerodynamic understanding of the car’s performance.
- Mentor more junior members of the Aero Correlation and wider Aero Performance groups.
- Work closely with Aero Development, Aero Test and CFD groups.
- Maintain relationships with other engineering groups (vehicle performance, race engineering).
Qualifications
- An excellent understanding of aerodynamics, with a keen attention to detail, and strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Well‑versed with Track, CFD and Wind Tunnel test techniques.
- Strong understanding of the aerodynamic structures and behaviours around the race car.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to perform duties in a timely manner with minimal errors.
- Ability to mentor more junior members of the group.
- Clear and concise communication, verbally and written, including with key stakeholders and directors.
- Strong IT skills, including MS Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Positive contribution to an open and inclusive culture.
- Flexible attendance and attitude to work in line with role and project requirements.
