Position Overview

Closing Date: 5th June 2026

The Assistant Financial Controller will play a pivotal role in the Finance function, ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of financial reporting and compliance across the UK and US entities. You will take full ownership of the UK month-end process, lead the consolidation of US entities, and take responsibility for shareholder reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of the UK accounting including the month-end close process, ensuring reporting is submitted accurately and timely.
  • Responsibility for the consolidated financial reporting of the UK and US entities.
  • Prepare shareholder reporting and further develop reporting in line with cadence of reporting requirements.
  • Complete annual statutory accounts reporting.
  • Coordinate and lead the year-end statutory audit process.
  • Implement and improve finance processes – ensuring they are streamlined, scalable, accurate and documented clearly to be digested by other stakeholders.
  • Advise the business on latest accounting practices, changes in standards and effective ways of reporting.
  • Line-manage and develop the financial accounting team.
  • Work closely with the Financial Controller and wider finance team to support strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Accountant – ACCA / ACA, or equivalent.
  • Deputy Financial Controller experience.
  • Strong understanding of FRS 102 and US GAAP and experience of consolidations.
  • High attention to detail.
  • High resilience with experience in working in a changeable environment with competing deadlines.
  • Experience with ERP systems, preferably IFS.
