We are looking for a reliable and motivated Stores Operative to join our expanding stores team. This is a fast-paced, hands-on role offering great variety, training, and long-term career development opportunities.
This is not a handheld scanner-only role - you'll be involved in a wide range of practical stores and logistics duties in a busy manufacturing environment.
The successful candidate for this role will come from a fast-paced engineering or manufacturing background with high attention to detail to booking in processes and stock control.
Key Responsibilities of the Stores Operative role:- Keep production areas supplied with consumables, PPE, and required kits
- Maintain accurate stock control records and update systems
- Carry out regular stock checks and full stock takes
- Monitor and report stock shortages or issues on the same day
- Manage goods in/out and vehicle movements (driving licence required)
- Operate a counterbalance forklift truck to move stock and kits safely
- Package and dispatch goods securely with correct paperwork and labelling
- Process returns and faulty goods with suppliers and accounts
- Maintain clean, safe, and organised stock areas in line with COSHH
- Support month-end stock valuation and reporting processes
- Follow health & safety procedures at all times
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Good communication skills at all levels
- Able to work in a busy, structured environment
- Problem-solving mindset with a proactive attitude
- Reliable, trustworthy, and able to manage responsibilities independently
