Talent-UK are currently recruiting for an experienced Materials Planner on behalf of their client, a successful manufacturer in the Normanton area. The role is offered on a permanent basis, working days 8am-4pm, and offers great benefits with ongoing training and development.

The Materials Planner is responsible for ensuring the right materials are available at the right time to support production. The role sits within the supply chain function and reports to the Operations Manager.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Creating and maintaining material plans based on production schedules and forecasts.
  • Monitoring inventory levels and preventing shortages or excess stock.
  • Using ERP systems and Excel to manage material data and reporting.
  • Coordinating with production, procurement, and logistics teams.
  • Analysing supply chain performance and identifying bottlenecks.
  • Managing purchase orders, delivery schedules, and material documentation.
Key Skills & Experience Required:
  • Experience using ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of supply chain planning and inventory management.
  • Strong Excel and numerical skills.
  • Good organisational and communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Manufacturing or logistics experience is advantageous.
Desirable Attributes:
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement.
  • Strong computer literacy.
  • Analytical and data-driven approach.
