Talent-UK are currently recruiting for a CNC Machinist for a well-established engineering business in the Wakefield area, working regular days with a 1pm finish on Friday. This is offered on a permanent basis with ongoing training and development.
The purpose of this role is to successfully run CNC /Manual machines within a heavy engineering environment.
Main duties of the CNC Machinist:
- Ensure machining operations and processes are effectively carried out by the approved manufacturing route and quality standards.
- Actively pursue continuous improvements in assembly methods and techniques and make recommendations for implementation when required.
- Ensure all machinery and equipment is maintained and regularly checked for lubrication.
- Take care of measuring equipment and report on any defective, or out-of-calibration items.
- Ensure all lifting and transportation equipment is used correctly.
Skills and experience of the CNC Machinist:
- Apprentice trained mechanical engineer
- Ability to use manual measuring equipment
- Good understanding of engineering drawings and geometrical tolerances
- Knowledge of CNC programming
- Experience of working with a horizontal machining centre and Fanuc controls
- Experience of working with Heidenhain controls
What is on offer to the CNC Machinist:
- Hourly rate up to £18.00 per hour DOE
- Hours are 8am-4.30pm Monday to Thursday & 8am-1pm Friday
- 33 days Holiday (including Bank Holidays)
- Additional Birthday Holiday
