We are currently recruiting for a PDI Operative to join an established and busy workshop environment in the Doncaster area.

This is a hands-on quality-focused role where you will play an important part in ensuring vehicle conversions are completed to the highest possible standards before they leave the workshop.

You’ll be responsible for carrying out detailed quality checks, ensuring equipment and installations are correctly fitted and fully operational, completing documentation and supporting the wider workshop team.

The role would be particularly well suited to Vehicle Technicians, Mechanics, Vehicle Inspectors or candidates with previous PDI, workshop or automotive experience.

Previous experience in quality control or quality assurance would also be advantageous.

  • What You'll Be Doing As a PDI Operative;
  • Carrying out detailed checks on completed vehicle conversions to ensure all items have been correctly fitted and are fully operational.
  • Using a tablet-based system to record and complete quality checks.
  • Applying stickers, rubber matting and other required items to vehicles.
  • Using vehicle weigh pads and accurately recording details for different types of conversion.
  • Completing all relevant paperwork and quality documentation accurately.
  • Assisting with vehicle handovers, including communicating directly with customers where required.
  • Supporting the Compliance Manager and Workshop Manager with quality and operational tasks.
  • Identifying and reporting any issues or defects and assisting with problem solving.
  • Carrying out other ad hoc duties as required to support the workshop.

We're looking for someone who can demonstrate

  • Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality.
  • Previous experience in quality control, quality assurance, inspection or a similar environment would be beneficial.
  • A valid driving licence.
  • Basic computer skills and confidence using tablet-based systems.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to build positive working relationships with colleagues, customers and external contacts.
  • A practical approach to problem solving.
  • High levels of integrity and professionalism.
  • The ability to handle company processes, data and information confidentially.
  • A good understanding of the importance of health & safety and following company procedures.
