The predicted salary is between 28800 - 42000 £ per year.

Maternity Cover for a minimum of 12 months, up to 15 months.

Based in Huddersfield - Office based.

Part time or Full time hours - minimum 24 up to 37.5. We are very flexible with the hours required; this can be a minimum of 24 hours up to full-time 37.5 hours. The payroll department does close on a Friday afternoon; however, if you have any other accounts experience and wanted full-time hours, then you could be accommodated in other parts of the business.

JOB PURPOSE

To work with approximately 150 clients for the preparation and processing of clients' payrolls.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Calculating accurate wages, including bonuses, salary increases, overtime and company specific payments and deductions.
  • Calculating tax, national insurance deductions and pension contributions.
  • Calculating statutory payments, such as SMP, SSP, SPP etc.
  • Issuing of relevant tax forms.
  • Processing documentation for starters and leavers.
  • Handling and responding to discrepancies and queries relating to payroll.
  • Giving payroll advice as required.
  • Processing BACS payments on behalf of some clients.
  • Liaising with HMRC.
  • Payrolling Benefits and P11Ds.
  • Any other ad hoc duties and administrative work.

  • Good timekeeping and an ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Organised, logical and methodical approach.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • A keen eye for detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to work well within a team and on own initiative.
  • Discretion at handling confidential and sensitive information.

EXPERIENCE

  • Knowledge of Sage and/or Xero is desirable.
  • Previous experience within Payroll.
  • Intermediate experience of Microsoft Office suite.
