We are looking for a reliable and motivated Stores Operative to join our expanding stores team. This is a fast-paced, hands-on role offering great variety, training, and long-term career development opportunities.

This is not a handheld scanner-only role - you'll be involved in a wide range of practical stores and logistics duties in a busy manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate for this role will come from a fast paced, engineering or manufacturing background with high attention to detail to booking in processes and stock control.

Key Responsibilities of the Stores Operative role:

  • Keep production areas supplied with consumables, PPE, and required kits
  • Maintain accurate stock control records and update systems
  • Carry out regular stock checks and full stock takes
  • Monitor and report stock shortages or issues on the same day
  • Manage goods in/out and vehicle movements (driving licence required)
  • Operate a counterbalance forklift truck to move stock and kits safely
  • Package and dispatch goods securely with correct paperwork and labelling
  • Process returns and faulty goods with suppliers and accounts
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organised stock areas in line with COSHH
  • Support month-end stock valuation and reporting processes
  • Follow health & safety procedures at all times
