The Role
As an ECoW you will work the end-to-end delivery of complex, multi-disciplinary projects — from ecological surveys and Environmental Clerk of Works supervision through to reporting and client liaison — ensuring all works meet the highest ecological and regulatory standards. You will work closely with expert ecologists and specialist consultants, coordinating surveys, managing project timelines and budgets, and maintaining clear communication with stakeholders. You’ll also have the full backing of senior leadership and business support staff to help you succeed. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a problem-solving, client-focused environment, enjoys teamwork, and wants to drive impactful project outcomes.
What You’ll Do
- Help the delivery of large and complex ecology and ECoW projects.
- Prepare quotations and proposals for new business opportunities.
- Oversee and coordinate sub-contractors and interdisciplinary teams.
- Ensure project timelines, budgets, and deliverables are met.
- Collaborate with specialist ecologists to integrate expert technical input.
- Manage project finances, ensuring efficient administration and reporting.
- Provide mentorship and support to colleagues while improving company processes.
What We’re Looking For
Essential:- Minimum 1 years’ experience in environmental consultancy or planning.
- Degree or Master’s in Ecology, Environmental Science, or related field.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in preparing fee proposals and quotations.
- Ability to prioritise workloads and work under time pressure.
- High-level written and verbal communication skills.
- Full, clean UK driving licence.
- Experience using project management software (e.g., WFM).
- Membership of the Association of Project Management (APM).
- Experience with ArcGIS.
- Prior ECoW / Environmental Clerk of Works experience highly beneficial.
