We are seeking a highly motivated, user-obsessed Full-Time UX Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be obsessed with UX, passionate about understanding user needs through continuous engagement, conducting thorough user interviews, and rigorously testing features. You will champion good design and user experience by acting as the voice of the customer throughout our products and services. You'll support the continuous improvement of our products by owning and driving the user research process, working closely with the product team to gather, analyse, and translate customer insights into actionable design improvements.
Responsibilities
- Identify current areas of usability improvements by analysing existing designs and gathering feedback across products and devices.
- Plan, recruit for, and conduct qualitative and quantitative user research using methods such as usability testing, focus groups, and guerrilla testing.
- Attend our state of the art casting studios to conduct ad hoc user interviews and shadow the casting process, to gather insight and test new features.
- Collaborate closely with developers and product managers to ensure research findings are effectively translated into the product roadmap and delivered to customers.
- Partner with the Principal Product Designer to ensure all research insights are integrated into the product design and development process, from initial concepts to final implementation.
- Translate customer research findings into actionable recommendations, user stories, and design concepts.
- Create and refine user personas, user journey maps, and empathy maps based on research findings.
- Develop prototypes for testing and evaluating new concepts and features with users.
- Instil a research-driven design culture in the company, helping everyone to value and understand the importance of customer insights.
- Evangelise the latest trends in user research and advocate for good research practices against opposition.
- Build relationships with internal teams to gather and validate research data and feedback.
Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of equivalent experience with a strong focus on user research and usability testing.
- Demonstrated experience in planning and leading a variety of user research methodologies, including A/B testing, card sorting, user interviews, and surveys.
- Expert-level proficiency in Figma for creating high-fidelity prototypes and final designs.
- Expert-level understanding of best practices in usability, accessibility, and web standards.
- Proficiency in other research and prototyping tools like Maze, UserTesting.com, or similar platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex research findings into clear, customer-centric recommendations.
- Proven ability to use product analytics tools like Heap, Google Analytics, or similar platforms to inform and validate research findings.
- Experience of designing and shipping successful digital products within an Agile development environment.
- Experience of mobile app design is a plus.
- The ability to work to tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
