Talent STEM are partnering with a respected scientific organisation based in Newcastle who are seeking a Chemistry Technician to join their laboratory team on an initial 3-month temporary contract. This opportunity is ideally suited to a recent Chemistry graduate looking to gain valuable industrial laboratory experience within a professional and fast-paced scientific environment. The Opportunity
This is a hands-on laboratory role where you will support day-to-day chemistry and laboratory operations while gaining exposure to industrial processes, analytical techniques and laboratory best practices. Working alongside experienced scientists and laboratory personnel, you will assist with sample preparation, routine testing and maintaining efficient laboratory operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support routine laboratory testing and analysis activities
- Prepare samples, reagents and laboratory equipment for testing
- Accurately record experimental and analytical data
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness and organisation in line with site health and safety procedures
- Assist with calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment
- Support senior laboratory staff with ongoing scientific projects and investigations
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company procedures and laboratory standards
- Handle chemicals and laboratory materials safely and responsibly
About You
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Chemistry graduate who is keen to develop hands-on industrial laboratory experience. You will likely bring:
- A BSc or MSc in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- A proactive and positive approach to learning
- Good communication skills and the ability to work within a team

- Previous laboratory experience gained through university studies is advantageous but not essential
