Talent STEM are partnering with a leading scientific organisation to recruit an Analytical Chemist on an initial 3‑month contract with the opportunity to secure a permanent position. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early‑career scientist looking to gain hands‑on laboratory experience within a commercial analytical environment. Working alongside experienced scientists, you will support sample preparation, analytical testing and data interpretation while developing your technical skills and industry knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine analytical testing and support laboratory investigations.
- Review and interpret analytical data.
- Record results accurately using laboratory information systems.
- Perform routine equipment checks, calibrations and maintenance activities.
- Work to daily productivity targets and agreed turnaround times.
- Ensure compliance with laboratory quality standards and operating procedures.
- Follow health and safety procedures at all times.
- Maintain high standards of laboratory housekeeping.
Candidate Requirements
- HNC, HND or Degree in Chemistry, Analytical Science, Forensic Science or a related scientific discipline.
- Full right to work in the UK without sponsorship requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Graduates from Chemistry, Analytical Science, Forensic Science, Pharmaceutical Science, Biochemistry and related disciplines are encouraged to apply.

- Previous laboratory experience gained through industry, placements, internships or academic projects.
