Are you an experienced Credit Controller with a background in property management, debt recovery, or legal collections? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where you can make a real impact on financial performance while delivering excellent customer service?

We are seeking a proactive and highly organised Credit Controller to join our Residential Management team. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a portfolio of residential and mixed-use properties, managing arrears recovery, legal proceedings, and customer account administration while working closely with Property Managers, solicitors, and senior stakeholders.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Manage the credit control function for a portfolio of residential and mixed-use properties.
  • Monitor rent, service charge, and major works arrears, producing regular reports and recommendations.
  • Proactively review arrears cases and implement appropriate recovery strategies.
  • Liaise with leaseholders, tenants, mortgage lenders, solicitors, and enforcement agents to maximise debt recovery.
  • Negotiate payment plans and settlements while maintaining positive customer relationships.
  • Work closely with Property Managers to resolve disputes, breaches of lease, repairs issues, and other matters that may impact debt recovery.
  • Prepare documentation and evidence for legal proceedings and instruct solicitors where necessary.
  • Represent the company in court proceedings when required.
  • Maintain accurate records of all communications and account activity on the property management system.
  • Process payments, refunds, write-offs, and other account adjustments in line with company procedures.
  • Support the wider Residential Management team on legal disputes and complex arrears matters.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience in Credit Control, Debt Recovery, Property Management, or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of arrears management and debt recovery processes.
  • Experience dealing with leaseholders, tenants, solicitors, or legal proceedings would be highly advantageous.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a varied workload and prioritise effectively.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping and reporting.
  • A professional, customer-focused approach with the confidence to handle challenging conversations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and property management systems.
