Core Responsibilities
- 1. Team Leadership & Technical Guidance
- Build, lead, and mentor a team of SRE engineers; define the team's technical roadmap to elevate engineering capabilities and delivery efficiency within AWS cloud-native architectures.
- Establish robust On-Call rotation schedules, incident response protocols, and post-mortem review processes, fostering a blameless engineering culture.
- 2. AWS Cloud Architecture Optimization & Reliability Engineering
- Actively participate in the design and architectural reviews of AWS cloud infrastructure, optimizing systems for auto-scaling, disaster recovery (DR), and multi-AZ/cross-region high availability.
- Drive Infrastructure as Code (IaC, e.g., Terraform / AWS CloudFormation) and GitOps practices to achieve standardized, efficient infrastructure deployments.
- 3. Observability & Performance Tuning
- Lead the architecting and implementation of an enterprise-wide observability platform (covering Metrics, Logs, and Traces, such as Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, AWS CloudWatch, and OpenTelemetry).
- Collaborate closely with product and business teams to define, monitor, and refine core SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs, continuously eliminating system toil.
- 4. CI/CD & Operations Automation
- Optimize AWS-based CI/CD pipelines (e.g., AWS CodePipeline, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI) to enable zero-downtime deployments (Canary / Blue-Green releases).
- Automate routine operational workflows and self-healing mechanisms to minimize human intervention risks.
- 5. Cloud Financial Operations (FinOps), Security & Compliance
- Monitor and optimize AWS resource utilization, executing granular cost control strategies (FinOps) through Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, and Spot instances.
- Partner with the Security team to enforce industry-leading security standards across AWS environments (including IAM principle of least privilege, data encryption, and compliance auditing).
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience in SRE or DevOps, with at least 2 years of leadership experience as an SRE Team Lead or Tech Lead.
- Deep AWS Expertise: In-depth knowledge of core AWS ecosystem components (e.g., EKS/ECS, EC2, RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, S3, CloudFront, Route53, IAM, VPC), with proven proficiency in high-availability and disaster recovery design.
- Coding & Automation: Proficient in at least one programming/scripting language (e.g., Python, Go, Bash), with strong mastery of IaC tools such as Terraform.
- Containerization & Cloud Native: Mastery of Kubernetes (EKS) orchestration, Service Mesh, and Helm deployment workflows.
- Observability Hands-On Experience: Proven track record in configuring and tuning observability and alerting systems for large-scale distributed environments (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, ELK stack).
- Incident & Emergency Management: Practical experience managing large-scale production incidents (P0/P1 failures) alongside exceptional troubleshooting capabilities.
- Soft Skills: Outstanding cross-functional communication and stakeholder management skills; highly accountable, resilient under pressure, and fluent in both English and Chinese.
