Overview
As a Senior Manager – Forensic Accounting & Royalties, you will be directly responsible for the commercial and operational performance of our team across three core areas: film & TV production, intellectual property and branding, and pharmaceutical & technology agreements.
Your role will involve working primarily with stakeholders in operations, strategy, finance and legal functions at both clients and third parties, across different global territories and languages.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and project manage the operational execution and risk management of third‑party reviews.
- Manage a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring stakeholder management across clients, third parties, advisors and internal leadership.
- Establish and develop trusted working relationships.
- Operate as a proactive, self‑driven, independent thinker, solving complex technical matters and developing tailored review strategies including contract risk assessments.
- Drive operational strategy, embrace technological advancements to improve service quality and effectiveness.
- Own wider department responsibilities: commercial performance, risk management, operational efficiency, business development execution and fostering a culture of continual development.
- Oversee and develop the team to the highest standard, motivating and coaching team members, providing feedback through regular communication and timely appraisals.
- Take responsibility for own personal development and contribute to the team’s development.
- Ensure risk management responsibilities are met, reviewing working papers and reports, and identifying complex review issues requiring senior leadership assessment.
Minimum Qualifications
- Professional qualification (ACA, ICAS, CA, ACCA or CIPFA).
- Experience overseeing professional service teams of a similar nature with at least 3 direct reports.
- Project management experience, including status updates to clients and third parties.
- Track record of contributing to commercial success, team strategy, operational enhancement and technology change.
- Experience developing work plans and testing approaches independently for complex challenges, ideally in a forensically focused environment.
- Business acumen and commercial awareness of complex contractual terms and associated risks.
- Risk management responsibility ensuring quality standards and identifying complex issues for senior leadership.
- Adherence to firm and team risk management policies and procedures, advising junior staff.
- Preparation of reports and ability to succinctly articulate findings for c‑suite stakeholders.
- Extensive experience with Microsoft packages, especially Excel.
Desired Skills and Experience (Optional)
- 3+ years focused experience in intellectual property and licensing, including royalty structures and licensing agreements.
- 3+ years experience in forensically challenging third parties’ evidence with professional scepticism and risk management.
- Advanced data analysis tools (Alteryx, Python, SQL), data visualisation tools (Power BI, Tableau) and understanding of generative AI implementation.
- Contribution to engagement economics, managing commercial discussions and delivering high‑quality work with commercial excellence.
- Business development activities: proposal preparation, market targeting, cross‑sell within professional services.
- Ambassador experience representing the firm’s services.
- Multilingual fluency enabling operation in different languages.
