Mobile Technical Operative – Mechanical Bias.

Location: Greater Manchester / City of Manchester.

Salary: £37,000 per annum plus van and fuel card.

A well-known, large Facilities Management organisation is seeking an experienced Mobile Technical Operative with in-depth knowledge of planned and reactive maintenance on a wide variety of mechanical and electrical building services.

The successful candidate would ideally have a relevant qualification (e.g., City & Guilds Mechanical Engineering Services NVQ Level 2 or higher) and a keen interest in Technical Operations. Commercial experience in Mechanical Engineering is a plus.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure that routine planned preventative maintenance (PPM) is carried out on all mechanical and electrical plant in accordance with site task schedules and CAFM systems.
  • Complete reactive tasks across sites and proactively identify areas for improvement.
  • Swiftly remedy plant faults and defects to maintain plant in serviceable order.
  • Ensure suitable spares are available to carry out maintenance and reactive works.
  • Provide parts lists and estimated timescales to carry out remedial works.
  • Carry out mechanical engineering tasks, fault finding, minor repairs, and installation alongside general maintenance services.
  • Provide engineering support in emergency situations to ensure business and operational continuity.
Experience & Qualifications
  • Approximately 5 years of relevant experience working as a Mechanical Engineer within a facilities management (FM) environment.
  • City and Guilds – Mechanical Engineering Services NVQ Level 2 or higher.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise with staff at all levels.
  • Proactive in achieving the highest standard of operation.
  • Good IT and report writing skills.
