The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 £ per year.

Location & Schedule: Newport. Monday to Friday, 40 hours, 07:00 – 16:30.

Role Overview: Provide overall responsibility for the repair, maintenance, testing and inspection of hire fleet equipment, predominantly light plant and power equipment that is on hire, on-site, at depots or returned to workshops in the region. Ensure all work is safe, compliant with Speedy safety standards and consistent with manufacturers’ specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Repair and maintain hire fleet equipment;
  • Test and inspect equipment;
  • Organise and plan work to meet expected timescales;
  • Support the business unit and team in delivering ESG strategy.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Previous mechanical engineering experience, ideally within the hire industry or other engineering field.
  • Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and as part of a team.
  • Commercially aware.
  • Ability to understand priorities, plan and organise work, and manage time to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to support the unit/team in delivering the ESG strategy.
