Overview

Are you an experienced Maintenance Engineer with a background in manufacturing or automated production environments? Do you enjoy fault finding, improving equipment performance and keeping production running efficiently? This role supports a specialist manufacturing business and is a night shift position.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance on manufacturing equipment
  • Respond to breakdowns and restore equipment operation efficiently
  • Fault find across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and automated systems
  • Support continuous improvement and efficiency projects
  • Monitor and improve equipment KPIs including MTBF and MTTR
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and calibration records
  • Support compliance with ISO 9001, 5S and Lean initiatives
  • Assist with installation, maintenance and optimisation of production equipment
  • Support and mentor maintenance technicians where required
  • Work closely with Production, Engineering and Facilities teams
  • Promote high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance

What you'll need to succeed

  • Time-served engineering apprenticeship with HNC/HND or equivalent experience
  • Experience within a manufacturing or production environment
  • Strong fault finding and diagnostic skills
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical and pneumatic drawings
  • Experience working with automated production equipment
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Strong understanding of preventative maintenance practices

Desirable

  • Experience with PLCs (Mitsubishi preferred)
  • Knowledge of robotics, conveyors or hydraulics
  • Experience applying Lean Manufacturing techniques
  • Previous experience leading or mentoring small teams
