This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive developer who enjoys taking ownership and making a real impact. You’ll play a key role in developing and evolving our core systems, working closely with stakeholders to understand business needs and deliver practical, high-quality solutions.

You’ll help shape our technology strategy by developing scalable applications, designing and integrating APIs, and identifying opportunities to leverage emerging technologies, including AI, to improve our products, processes and customer experience.

This role offers a high degree of autonomy and is ideal for someone who is self-motivated, organised and confident working independently, while building strong relationships across the business.

Principal accountabilities

  • To be responsible for ensuring adherence to organisational policies and procedures in the discharging of principal accountabilities and functions.
  • To be responsible for designing, building and supporting our core RegHub platform.
  • To be responsible for creating the delivery of roadmaps with task level estimate and reporting progress against them.
  • To proactively take ownership of your personal deliverables whilst being supported by the wider IT team.
  • To be responsible for ensuring the systems are fit for purpose and code is of high quality.
  • To be responsible for working closely with business stakeholders to ensure features meet their needs.
  • To be responsible for maintaining and improving the code base architecture to ensure it stays on support frameworks and remains maintainable.
  • To be responsible for producing and maintaining technical documentation for new features, changes and architectural decisions.
  • To be responsible for collaborating with third parties and partners as and when required.
  • To establish and maintain positive relationships with colleagues, customers, visitors and other individuals visiting or working in the business.
  • To represent the company as an honest, knowledgeable and conscientious ambassador.
  • To take responsibility for ensuring and achieving the objectives of the company Health and Safety Policy.
  • To undertake any other duties in order to meet personal, team and organisational objectives following consultation with your line manager.
  • C# / .NET. This is the primary technology stack for our current and future systems and is the most important technical requirement for the role.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, including database design, querying, and performance optimisation.
  • Microsoft Azure. As the future systems are hosted within Azure, experience with Azure services and cloud-based development is highly desirable.
  • Laravel (PHP). Knowledge of Laravel is beneficial, particularly for supporting our existing bespoke WorkCRM platform during its transition, although this technology will be phased out over time.

The ideal candidate will be a strong C#/.NET developer with solid SQL knowledge and experience working with modern web technologies and cloud-based applications in Azure.

We’re looking for a proactive Software Engineer who takes ownership, builds quality software and enjoys solving real business problems.

You’ll have:

  • Strong experience developing scalable, maintainable software.
  • Proven API design and integration experience with a solid understanding of systems architecture.
  • The confidence to work independently and manage projects from concept to delivery.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, translating business needs into effective technical solutions.
  • A commercial mindset, using technology to improve processes and drive the business forward.
  • A strong understanding of AI and modern development tools, using them to enhance productivity while applying the experience and judgement to validate outputs and identify errors.
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals, with experience beyond AI-assisted development.
  • A proactive, collaborative approach and a passion for continuous improvement.

Candidates must have permanent Right to Work in the UK status, residing within a commutable distance. Please note that our client cannot offer visa sponsorship for overseas candidates.
