We are seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our Engineering team and support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our manufacturing and packaging assets.
The Role
Reporting to the Engineering leadership team, you will play a key role in delivering world-class maintenance support to the site. You will work closely with Operations to minimise downtime, improve asset reliability, and contribute to ongoing engineering and performance improvement initiatives, while acting as a role model for safety, standards, and professional behaviour.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver reactive maintenance support, responding rapidly to breakdowns and restoring equipment safely and efficiently
- Execute planned and preventive maintenance activities in line with the maintenance plan to maximise asset reliability and longevity
- Support proactive improvement activities, identifying recurring issues and contributing to root cause analysis and reliability improvements
- Collaborate closely with Operations and Manufacturing teams to prioritise maintenance activities that support production continuity
- Contribute to maintenance planning, providing technical feedback on faults, spares, job plans, and improvement opportunities
- Ensure full safety, food safety, and legal compliance, adhering to site rules, permit systems, isolations, and safe systems of work
- Maintain accurate documentation and reporting, recording all work, parts usage, and actions within the CMMS/MMS
- Provide effective team support and communication, ensuring clear handovers, issue visibility, and cross-shift alignment
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as required by the Head of Engineering or Site Manager
Daily Expectations
On a day-to-day basis, you will:
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults to minimise production downtime
- Complete scheduled maintenance tasks safely, to standard, and on time
- Identify and implement engineering improvements that enhance reliability, performance, and efficiency
- Support production during shift with a proactive, solutions-focused approach
- Communicate clearly with Engineering and Operations teams to ensure effective coordination and decision-making

Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or above), with proven multi-skilled capability
- Strong electrical fault-finding experience in an industrial environment
- Experience working in a Food & Drink or FMCG manufacturing environment
- IOSH Working Safely (or equivalent)
- Experience managing key stakeholders and driving positive engineering change
Desirable:
- HNC / HND or higher qualification
- PLC fault-finding experience
- Experience in maintenance planning or continuous improvement initiatives
