Are you an experienced HR professional looking for a varied role where no two days are the same? We are a leading biscuit manufacturer with a busy 24/7 operation, employing approximately 700 colleagues. We're looking for a proactive and people-focused HR Advisor to join our HR team and support managers across the business with a wide range of employee relations and HR activities. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a hands-on, generalist HR role and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The Role

  • Providing practical HR support and guidance to managers and employees across the site.
  • Managing employee relations casework, including disciplinary, grievance, absence and capability matters.
  • Supporting managers through investigations, hearings and formal processes.
  • Monitoring and analysing absence trends and supporting effective absence management.
  • Assisting with long-term sickness cases alongside Occupational Health and management teams.
  • Providing advice on HR policies, procedures and employment legislation.
  • Supporting employee engagement initiatives and maintaining a visible presence across the site.
  • Producing HR reports and maintaining accurate employee records and HR systems.

About You

  • Experienced in an HR Advisor or HR Generalist role within a fast paced manufacturing business.
  • Confident managing a range of employee relations cases.
  • An excellent communicator who can build strong relationships at all levels.
  • Organised, proactive and able to manage competing priorities.
  • Positive, approachable and able to work independently using their own initiative.
  • Experience within manufacturing, food production, logistics or another operational environment is highly desirable.
  • Experience working with a unionised workforce and a CIPD qualification (or working towards one) would be advantageous.

The role is based on site in Uttoxeter. Standard hours are Monday to Thursday 8:30am-5:00pm and Friday 8:30am-4:00pm, with occasional flexibility required to support early or late shifts within our 24/7 operation.
