Payroll Advisor

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Payroll Advisor to join a leading global business services organisation based in Birmingham. Working within a highly skilled Payroll team, you will play a key role in delivering accurate and compliant payroll processing for UK employees, ensuring payroll activities are completed efficiently, on time and in line with current legislation and company standards. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy and evolving payroll function supporting UK employees within a large, complex organisation. The role offers exposure to end-to-end payroll operations, payroll transformation initiatives, system enhancements and process improvement projects, allowing you to play an active role in shaping and improving payroll delivery. Working closely with HR, Time and Attendance teams and key business stakeholders, you will be part of a collaborative environment focused on accuracy, compliance and service excellence.

What you will be doing:

• Process weekly and monthly payrolls for UK employees, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely delivery.
• Manage payroll-related queries, investigate discrepancies and provide excellent customer service to employees and stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations, RTI submissions, payroll tax requirements and UK employment legislation.
• Perform payroll controls and reconciliations, including pre-payroll validation checks, variance analysis, exception reporting and post-payroll reviews.
• Collaborate with HR and Time and Attendance teams to ensure accurate and timely payroll inputs and payroll processing.
• Support payroll audits, system enhancements, testing activities (UAT), and payroll system improvements.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, automation opportunities, and payroll transformation projects to enhance efficiency and employee experience.

What we are looking for:

• You will be an experienced payroll professional with SAP SuccessFactors Payroll experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering a high-quality payroll service while driving continuous improvement.
• Proven experience within a UK payroll environment, including end-to-end payroll processing.
• Experience working with SAP SuccessFactors Payroll is essential.
• Strong understanding of UK payroll legislation, HMRC regulations, tax requirements and payroll procedures.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work accurately in a high-volume environment.
• Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to build effective stakeholder relationships.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
