As a Grounds Maintenance Operative, you'll play a vital role in transforming and maintaining outdoor spaces across the Westmorland and Furness region. From mowing and pruning to weeding and litter picking, your work will help create safe, welcoming, and beautiful environments for local communities to enjoy. This is a full-time role, working Monday to Thursday 07:30-16:30 and Friday 07:30-12:30, based in Kendal. Fixed-term and permanent opportunities are available.
You’ll thrive in this role if you enjoy working outdoors, take pride in your work, and want to make a visible difference every day. You’ll be:
- Operating ride-on and pedestrian mowers, strimmers, and other horticultural tools
- Maintaining shrubs, borders, and lawns to a high standard
- Keeping public spaces clean and tidy through litter picking and weeding
- Supporting seasonal planting and pruning activities
- Working safely and efficiently in all weather conditions
- Driving between sites (a full UK manual driving licence is essential)
