An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced CNC Setter / Programmer to join a leading global engineering and manufacturing organisation based in Fareham. Working within a highly skilled machine shop environment, you will be responsible for the programming, setting and operation of multi-axis CNC turning equipment, with a particular focus on CNC sliding head lathes. Producing small, high-precision components to exacting standards, you will play a key role in supporting the manufacture of advanced sensing and engineering products used in demanding industrial applications. What you will be doing
- Programming, setting and operating CNC sliding head multi-axis lathes
- Producing high-precision machined components to tight tolerances and customer specifications
- Optimising machining processes to maintain efficiency, quality and productivity targets
- Carrying out additional machining activities including manual turning, milling and grinding where required
- Performing secondary operations such as deburring and finishing activities
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Supporting planned maintenance, Lean 6S activities and general machine shop housekeeping standards
- Maintaining a safe working environment and adhering to all quality, health and safety procedures
