Assembly Operator

Location: Fareham

Hours: Mon – Thurs (07:30 – 15:30), Fri (07:00 – 12:00 noon)

Salary: £25,989 – £32,645

We are seeking an Aerospace Assembly Operator to join our manufacturing team supporting a range of leading aerospace customers, including major aircraft and engine manufacturers. This is a hands-on role focused on the assembly of precision components used in aircraft engine systems, where quality, accuracy, and attention to detail are critical.

This position is well-suited to someone with a manufacturing or assembly background, ideally with basic electronics knowledge, who takes pride in producing high-quality work in a regulated aerospace environment.

The Role

As an Aerospace Assembly Operator, you will manufacture and assemble components used in aircraft engine speed and sensing systems. Working to engineering drawings and manufacturing instructions, you will ensure all assemblies meet strict aerospace quality and safety standards.

You will be part of a team delivering components for multiple aerospace customers, supporting both ongoing production and new product introductions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble precision aerospace components and sub-assemblies to approved standards
  • Build and test components used in aircraft engine speed and sensor systems
  • Work accurately from engineering drawings, routings, and build specifications
  • Set up and use jigs and fixtures for assembly and test activities
  • Support root cause analysis and problem-solving activities
  • Assist engineering teams during new product introduction
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping, health & safety, and environmental compliance
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in Quality, Cost, and Delivery.

Skills Required

  • Experience in a manufacturing, assembly, or aerospace environment
  • High attention to detail and strong manual ability
  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings
  • Basic electronics knowledge (components, wiring, soldering, or similar)
  • Expertise in at least one of the following processes:
  • General Assembly
  • Soldering (J-STD-001)
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office
