A respected UK environmental services provider is seeking a proactive Arboricultural Consultant to join their in-house arboriculture team. This isn’t a typical BS5837 survey role - you’ll gain hands-on experience across a variety of specialist projects including veteran tree assessments, development site surveys, and asset capture work.
This role is ideal for an early to mid-career consultant ready to expand their skills and support nationally important projects including highways, universities, healthcare, and infrastructure contracts. You’ll work across regions including the East Coast, West Country, and Midlands.
Key Responsibilities- Undertake a broad range of tree surveys (BS5837, hazard, and development-based).
- Prepare high-quality technical reports and tree data using mapping software.
- Attend sites across the UK (approx. 4-5 days a week) - diverse locations and sectors.
- Collaborate with project managers, planners, and ecology teams to deliver client outcomes.
- Support long standing high profile clients as well as ad hoc works including bat surveys and high-risk tree reviews.
- You must hold a minimum QCF Level 3/4 Qualification in Arboriculture or above.
- Proven experience in arboricultural fieldwork and reporting.
- Strong working knowledge of BS5837 and UK planning guidance.
- Confident in interpreting survey data and presenting technical findings clearly.
- IT literate - especially MS Office and mapping tools.
- Ability to work independently and travel frequently.
- Foundation degree, HND, or similar in arboriculture or environmental management.
- LANTRA PTI or equivalent certification.
- Familiarity with GIS, QGIS, or ArborTrack.
- Enthusiasm to expand skillset in consultancy or asset management.
