The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Bakery Training Lead to take ownership of training and development across our Uttoxeter site. This is a key leadership role, responsible for shaping and delivering our learning strategy through our training academy ensuring our teams have the skills, knowledge, and capability to perform at their very best. Reporting to the HR Manager and Factory Manager, you’ll work closely with operational leaders and department managers to build capability, support compliance, and develop future talent across a 24/7 manufacturing operation.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Develop and deliver a site-wide training strategy aligned to business goals
  • Identify skills gaps and create engaging, effective learning solutions
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Training Facilitators and a Training Administrator
  • Oversee induction, onboarding and site academy programmes
  • Maintain accurate training records, competency assessments, and skills matrices
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, food safety, and quality standards

  • Experience in a Learning & Development, training, or capability role
  • Proven experience leading or managing a team
  • Strong communication, coaching, and influencing skills
  • Experience designing and delivering impactful training programmes
  • Excellent organisation and planning abilities
  • Ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the business
  • Experience within manufacturing or food production
  • Knowledge of Apprenticeships, Health & Safety, and food safety standards

This is a site-based role, working 5 days per week. You’ll have flexibility around start and finish times, with autonomy to manage your schedule in line with business needs.
