We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Lead Engineer to oversee mechanical maintenance operations at a prestigious commercial site near Lime Street. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for ensuring all mechanical systems are maintained to the highest standard while overseeing a team of 3 engineers delivering both planned and reactive maintenance across the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and support a team of 3 engineers on-site
- Oversee daily mechanical maintenance operations across the building
- Carry out and manage planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works
- Maintain and fault-find on mechanical systems including HVAC, pumps, motors, AHUs, FCUs, pipework, and associated plant
- Ensure compliance with health & safety procedures and site regulations
- Coordinate subcontractors and specialist service providers on-site
- Monitor plant performance and identify opportunities for improvement
- Complete maintenance reports, logbooks, and documentation accurately
- Act as a key point of contact for the client and site management team
About You
- Strong mechanical engineering background within commercial building maintenance
- Relevant mechanical qualifications (City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent)
- Previous experience leading or supervising engineering teams
- Good knowledge of HVAC and building services systems
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Professional and client-facing approach
- Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively
