We are recruiting for an experienced Critical Engineering Manager to lead engineering operations within a high-profile critical environment. This role is responsible for overseeing engineering teams, maintaining resilience across critical systems, and ensuring all maintenance and operational activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and with zero disruption to client operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a multi-skilled engineering team within a critical environment
- Oversee planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive works, and technical operations
- Ensure maximum uptime and resilience across critical electrical and mechanical systems
- Review RAMS and manage risk associated with maintenance and project activities
- Coordinate workloads, shift cover, training, and team performance
- Support incident management, fault diagnosis, and root cause analysis
- Ensure compliance with all health & safety and client procedures
- Produce technical and operational reports including uptime and performance metrics
- Act as a key escalation point for clients and senior management
About You
- Strong experience managing engineering teams within critical environments such as data centres, banking, telecoms, or similar
- Excellent technical knowledge of critical infrastructure including UPS, generators, cooling systems, HV/LV distribution, BMS, and life safety systems
- Relevant engineering qualifications (HNC/HND, NVQ, C&G or equivalent)
- HV/LV Authorised Person status or working towards
- Experience with CAFM/BMS systems and maintenance management
- Calm, organised, and confident under pressure with strong leadership skills
