Electrical Engineer
Location: Canary Wharf, London
Salary: £54,000
Hours: Monday to Friday
Position: Permanent, Static Site
The Role
We are looking for an experienced Electrical Day Engineer to join the engineering team at a prestigious commercial building in Canary Wharf.
This is an excellent opportunity for an electrically qualified engineer looking for a Monday-to-Friday position within a high-profile, technically demanding environment.
The successful candidate will ideally be a current HV Authorised Person (HVAP) or have previously held HVAP status and be comfortable working around HV/LV electrical systems.
You'll work as part of an established engineering team, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance while ensuring the building's electrical infrastructure remains safe, compliant and operational.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance
- Maintain electrical systems including power, lighting and distribution
- Work safely around HV and LV electrical systems
- Carry out electrical fault finding and diagnostics
- Respond to breakdowns and resolve technical issues efficiently
- Carry out routine inspections of electrical plant and equipment
- Support switching and HV activities in line with site procedures and authorisation
- Liaise with specialist subcontractors and oversee works where required
- Complete maintenance records and update the CAFM system
- Ensure all works comply with Health & Safety and site procedures
- Maintain plant rooms and engineering areas to a high standard
- Provide a professional service when dealing with clients and building occupiers
About You xgikmsk
- Fully electrically qualified City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
- 18th Edition
- Current HVAP or previously held HVAP status
- Strong commercial building maintenance experience
- Good knowledge of HV/LV electrical systems
- Strong electrical fault-finding ability
- Experience working within large commercial or critical environments would be advantageous
- Professional and confident in a client-facing environment
- Reliable, proactive and able to work effectively as part of an engineering team
