Location: North-West – Crewe, Carlisle, Preston, Blackburn
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am – 5pm
Salary:£40,000 + Van & Fuel Card
A great opportunity has arisen for aGate Engineer to join a growing facilities and engineering team. This role involves maintaining and repairing a wide range of automatic gate and barrier systems within a busy utilities environment, along with supporting general mechanical and electrical building services maintenance.
The Role

Carry out PPM and reactive maintenance on automatic gates, sliding gates, security barriers, rapid roller shutters, and associated M&E systems.

Respond to callouts, urgent repairs, and planned works as required.

Diagnose faults and complete repairs to minimise downtime and ensure operational continuity.

Install mechanical and electrical equipment as part of upgrade or replacement works.

Maintain accurate records, documentation, and compliance logs.

Work closely with supervisors, engineers, and client contacts to deliver a high-quality service.

Ensure all tasks are completed safely and in line with health and safety procedures.
What Youll Need

Mechanical and/or electrical engineering background.

Experience working with automatic gate and barrier systems.

Strong fault-finding skills across mechanical and electrical equipment.

Ability to plan workload, prioritise tasks, and work independently when required.

Good communication skills and a customer-focused mindset.

Understanding of PPM schedules, compliance requirements, and safe working practices.
