Job Description
Mechanical Engineer – £42,000 – £44,000 + great career progression pathways An established building services specialist, known for delivering high-performance engineering support across commercial environments, is looking for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join its team in London. Working as part of an embedded maintenance team, you'll be responsible for ensuring critical infrastructure across key client sites remains fully operational and compliant.Reporting to the Contract Manager, you will be part of a dedicated engineering team providing mechanical and building services maintenance across a commercial estate. Youll play a key role in maintaining and optimising the operation of critical systems while ensuring all work meets statutory and client requirements.Key Responsibilities: Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works as part of the shift engineering team.Issue and manage site Permits to Work in accordance with Safe Systems of Work procedures.Identify required materials for repairs or maintenance and complete internal Materials Request Forms accordingly.Maintain detailed and effective shift handovers, including: Critical plant status, isolations, ongoing tasks, and housekeeping standards and accurate completion of shift logs and maintenance records before end of shift.Ensure statutory inspections are completed and recorded in a timely and accurate manner, including annual plant inspections.Oversee and support third-party contractors, ensuring adherence to site standards and safety procedures in collaboration with the Shift Leader.Provide technical support and fault-finding expertise across mechanical systems including: AC/DC motors (single and three phase), Pumps and air handling units (AHUs), HVAC systems and air conditioning plant, Plumbing infrastructure, Water treatment plant and associated controlsRequirements: NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Mechanical Engineering, Plumbing, or Building Services (or equivalent).Proven experience in commercial building maintenance.Good working knowledge of mechanical building systems, HVAC, pumps, and motors.TPBN1_UKTJ
