The Opportunity An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced M&E Project Manager to join a well-established and growing building services business.
This is an excellent role for a commercially aware Project Manager who enjoys taking full ownership of projects from initial specification and tender through to successful delivery.
You'll be managing a variety of mechanical and electrical projects ranging from approximately £500k to £1Miliion, predominantly within occupied client premises. The position offers plenty of autonomy and the opportunity to build strong client relationships while identifying additional project opportunities.
What You'll Be Doing Manage M&E projects from initial enquiry through to completion
Deliver projects on time, within budget and to a high standard
Take responsibility for project financial performance, budgets and forecasting
Identify and manage commercial, contractual and operational risks
Procure and manage specialist subcontractors
Ensure subcontractor performance, quality and programme requirements are maintained
Select appropriate equipment and technical solutions for projects
Produce specifications, tenders and project documentation
Maintain strong relationships with clients throughout project delivery
Attend client meetings and provide regular project updates
Ensure projects comply with relevant Health & Safety and QSHE requirements
Identify additional works and opportunities within existing client accounts
Support tendering, negotiation and wider business development activities
Provide practical, technically sound and cost-effective solutions for clients
What We're Looking For We're looking for an experienced M&E Project Manager with a strong combination of technical, commercial and client-facing skills.
Ideally, you'll have:
Around 5 years' experience in a similar M&E Project Management role
Experience delivering Mechanical & Electrical projects from £500k to £1Miliion
Strong commercial and financial management experience
Experience managing specialist subcontractors
Good knowledge of mechanical and electrical building services
Experience delivering projects within occupied commercial/client environments
Ability to specify, tender and negotiate project works
Strong understanding of contractual and commercial risk
Excellent communication and client relationship skills
Strong organisational and problem-solving ability
Relevant engineering, building services or project management qualification
